BRAND IDENTITY - STATIONERY - ILLUSTRATION - brand merchandise - website designMy heart sang with pure joy upon reading Alyson’s statement of intentions for her not-then-named business. Alyson had very clear goals and purpose to her brand, I enjoyed ever so much working with Alyson to discover & bring to life balanced.her.
To me it felt Alyson had a very clear vision for her brand, and how balanced.her should feel but was unsure of the detail of how it was going to manifest itself. She put her complete trust in me to to develop and deliver my interpretations of her brief, which was so exciting as from reading her very first words and talking with her I instantly began to visualise everything; the colours, the textures, the illustrations and the typography, I have never been so eager to put pen to paper.
Making women feel good, for themselves was really the driving inspiration for aesthetic, we didn’t want to create a look that was a run-of-the-mill fitness brand, what Alyson was offering was much more than that, it’s a lifestyle - a way of being with a truly bespoke approach.
We chose a logo typeface that is synonymous with style, modern and approachable. The colour palette was heavily influenced by balanced.her’s unique feature - it’s Garden Studio. The Garden Studio is where Alyson’s classes & sessions take place, where initial consultations happen, It is where Alyson grows her vegetables & flowers which feed her passion of cooking and inspired recipe writing, it will also become the place where women come together and celebrate themselves & connect. We chose to work with sage greens, marigold & calendula paired with more neutral tones of natural linen and oat - all the good stuff. We used organic textures, recycled natural papers. We also created a series of charcoal illustrations of the female form, representing strength, growth & beauty. Alyson has gone on to use her brand elements to create merchandise; aluminium water bottles, yoga mats, caps, totes and kettlebells.
We have also designed & built balanced.hers website. We started with humble beginnings, really to serve as a one-page-site to give an overview of balanced.her’s approach, ethos & services. The business has grown and evolved so much during their first year that we are rapidly evolving the website to accommodate all of the wonderful and exciting additions. We have incorporated a shop function to sell merchandise, event tickets and group session spaces and worked closely with Alyson and marketing consultant Gabriella May to deliver artwork & campaigns to e-marketing strategies.
We can’t wait to see what the future has in-store for balanced.her and how wildly & wonderfully Alyson’s brand will grow.

I started working with Sophie when the brand I was looking to create was simply an idea in my head. From our very first conversations Sophie embraced the concept of what I was looking to create and I knew she just 'got it' from the initial brief she put together. She brings fresh ideas, creativity and style. She is not afraid to direct but is a wonderful listener so you feel your project is a collaboration from start to finish. From those initial ideas I presented Sophie with, she has helped me to create an established brand with a strong identity, which I could only have dreamt of this time last year. As the brand develops, I look forward to working with Sophie more and more. Sophie is a colleague which is invaluable when you are starting a business on your own and she has also become a friend - for whom I am very grateful to have met.
